It is an honor to stand before you today as we celebrate International Women’s Day—a day to recognize, appreciate, and empower the women who shape our world.
Women have always been the backbone of society, contributing in countless ways as leaders, educators, caregivers, entrepreneurs, scientists, and changemakers. Today, we celebrate their achievements, but we also acknowledge the challenges they continue to face. Gender equality is not just a women's issue; it is a societal issue that requires the collective effort of all individuals.
History has shown us the resilience of women. From Rani Lakshmibai’s valor in battle to Kalpana Chawla’s journey into space, from Savitribai Phule’s contributions to education to Kiran Bedi breaking barriers in law enforcement—women have continuously proved that they can excel in any field they choose.
However, despite these strides, gender disparities still exist in workplaces, education, and leadership roles. It is our responsibility to ensure that women receive equal opportunities, respect, and support in every sphere of life. This change begins with us—by challenging biases, supporting women's education and careers, and promoting a culture of equality.
Empowering women is not just about creating a fair society; it is about creating a stronger, more inclusive world. When women thrive, families flourish, communities progress, and nations grow. Let us pledge to stand together, to support and uplift one another, and to work towards a future where every woman can pursue her dreams without limitations.
