Sky Livingit Continuity Announcer (2011-15)
Becki Linford에 의해Real Lives was a British pay television channel owned by Sky, a division of Comcast, that operated from 2004 to 2019. It served as a sister channel to Sky Living and primarily focused on lifestyle, reality, and factual programming.
The channel launched on 13 December 2004 as LIVINGtv2 on Sky Digital and Telewest. Initially, it featured highlights and extended coverage of reality shows from the main LIVINGtv channel, including I'm Famous and Frightened Extra! and Most Haunted Live!. It also acquired American reality series like The Amazing Race and aired lifestyle and health-related programs such as Baby ER, Birth Stories, and Wedding SOS.
In 2007, the channel was rebranded as Living2, and in 2009, it became LivingIt. The rebranding aimed to clarify that the channel was not a timeshifted version of the main channel. In 2011, following Sky's acquisition of the Living TV Group from Virgin Media, the channel was renamed Sky Livingit. The channel's programming included a mix of lifestyle, reality, and factual content.
On 9 June 2015, Sky Livingit was rebranded as Real Lives. The rebranding included updated idents and a new logo, though the channel's programming remained largely unchanged. Real Lives continued to offer a variety of lifestyle and factual content, including reality shows, medical documentaries, and crime series.
On 1 October 2019, Real Lives ceased broadcasting and was replaced by Sky Crime. Sky Crime focuses on crime dramas and documentaries, continuing Sky's expansion into specialized content channels. The closure of Real Lives marked the end of its 15-year run as a destination for lifestyle and factual programming.
Throughout its history, Real Lives adapted to changes in viewer preferences and the television landscape, evolving from a supplementary channel to a standalone brand. Its legacy continues in the form of Sky Crime, which carries forward the tradition of specialized factual programming.
